A yeast infection occurs when too much yeast builds up in the body. It’s the side effect of taking some antibiotics.

The vaginal discharge during pregnancy that you see when you have a yeast infection is white in color and thick like cottage cheese in consistency.

Having this type of infection can affect how you pee as well as the pain you feel while engaging in sexual intercourse. You do not need to be pregnant to experience a yeast infection.

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)

Something smells fishy

Bacterial Vaginosis could be the cause of fishy smelling discharge after sex.

A fishy-smelling discharge is noticeable after sex. Itching and burning may accompany it. As a pregnant woman, it is of concern because of what it can do to your unborn child.

It may cause the membranes to erupt prematurely and lead to preterm birth if not addressed right away. A prescription medication is often what gets rid of the problem without causing damage to the baby’s body in any way.

You may notice leakage when you cough or sneeze. Doing Kegel exercises helps strengthen the muscles around the vagina, so that the problem doesn’t cause embarrassment.

Wearing an added layer of protection such as a maxi pad prevents urine from getting onto your clothes and causing you to need to change several times a day.

Amniotic Fluid

Brown, green, pinkish, or yellow fluid

If you’re leaking a lot of fluid, it’s amniotic not urine. It may even be brown, green, pinkish or yellow. It’s what occurs when the amniotic sac ruptures.

You should not have this issue happen until you go into labor. If you notice that the liquid is seeping out of you and you can’t get it to stop by laying down, go to the hospital right away.
