The Bellefit Girdle with Zipper has a lateral zipper on the side with two sets of hook and eye closures underneath. Ideal for Natural Childbirth.

The Girdle with Zipper has a lateral zipper on the side with two sets of hook and eye closures underneath. They are separated by an inch apart so you may tighten the girdle when additional compression is needed as you progress during your childbirth recovery. Although we do recommend this style for women that have had a Natural delivery, many moms do choose to wear the Girdle with Zipper after their C-Section incision has healed.

I had a C section about 5 weeks ago but started wearing this girdle with zipper about a week after surgery. I bought the small because it was the size suggested using the “choosing and sizing” tool on bellefit. I gained about 30 lbs during pregnancy at 5 feet tall. My belly was very swollen after delivery, looked like I was still 5 months pregnant. My belly was very tender and still is 5 weeks postpartum. I wore the girdle about few times a week only for about 2-3 hours at a time because the small was quite tight. As the swelling decreased I increased the wearing time. The girdle really helped the pain by compressing the flab. The only thing I say needs improvement is the hook/zipper part. I think it needs another hook in the middle because the current design has a hook on the top and one on the bottom. When you’re still so swollen it’s extremely hard to zip in the middle when there’s no hook to hold the girdle together close enough to zip it up! I would recommend buying the bundle in 2 different sizes. One should be the suggested size and one in a size bigger if you want to wear it right after delivery. The suggested size would not fit comfortably. (That’s if you can even fit in to it without waiting a week or so!)

I bought this after our daughter (second baby) was born. I love it! It smooths everything out and really helped with the water retention. I’ve had a belly band in the past and I couldn’t wear it out of the house since it would bunch up under my clothes. This was a perfect solution!

This girdle was truly helpful in supporting my midsection. I had horrible issues with my SI joint during pregnancy and after with no core muscles on top of back pain the girdle made all the difference. It was very easy to wear and stayed in place. How ever, when it comes to how it looked…it made my butt horribly flat and gave me saddle bags; also it was not long enough for my torso I don’t think. I would prefer it to come high enough in the back that it doesn’t give the appearance of a role under the bra. All in all I’m glad I made the purchase it feels good to wear it around the house for support.

I bought the bellefit girdle with side zipper. I didn’t start wearing it until 6 weeks after delivery. I do like it but it is really tight. At first I had problems wearing it because I had a moderate tear since I delivered vaginally. The flap of fabric that goes between my legs was really tight and I could hardly stand wearing it because it put so much pressure on my vaginal area. I finally thought to myself that I had a bra extender that i could use to create more space and decrease the pressure. This helped although i’m sure it was not the way the company intended for it to be worn. After I did that though it seemed that the girdle was a lot more comfortable because i could pull the girdle up where it was supposed to be rather having it half way down my stomach where it seemed to put a lot of pressure on my upper stomach area and also having to pull it down because of the pressure on my vaginal area. I don’t wear it everyday yet because i am at home but when i go back to work i think i will start wearing it everyday. The only thing that would make this product better is maybe having a long torso option or a extended crotch snap for women that has these issues. When I wear the girdle i do feel more confident and secure because it is supporting my post baby belly! I do enjoy that part!

To give you a better idea of fit, I am a petite 4’11” and at 9 weeks postpartum I weigh 105lbs. This baby is baby #7 and I am 38 years old. I ordered a size xsmall because I would be shrinking and couldn’t afford to buy two girdles in different sizes. I started wearing the girdle at about 1 week postpartum. Before then it was too uncomfortable on my sore uterus. The girdle has a lot of compression and I was really squishing to get into the xsmall. The girdle has a lot of compression and really squeezes things back in. I wore the girdle all day every day for the first 8 weeks and now my belly is much flatter. I am not back to my prepregnancy size but not bad for #7. The girdle seemed to help support my back as well. The downside is that it is not always comfortable. Driving in it was very uncomfortable for me. Sitting in the rocker nursing was also not very comfortable… Would I wear it again with a future pregnancy? Probably. However, ! am only giving four stars due to the boning issue causing lack of comfort.

    Fit Somewhat Small

I am 3 weeks postpartum and am enjoying my bellefit girdle thus far. At first I needed assistance zipping the girdle and fastening the hooks but soon after those first couple wears I was small enough to be able to put it on myself. It is snug yet breathable. It definitely seems like a quality girdle! I love the support and confidence it provides during the postpartum time. After calling several times with questions and concerns about different kids of hurdles corsets that would work best for me I was pleasantly surprised how helpful and accommodating Bellefit is to deal with. They definitely stand by the products they make!! My only concerns are the hooks (on the side by the zipper) wearing out over time as they are already a bit loose and I wonder how that would hold up over time. The boning on the side opposite of the zipper curves in toward my body and pokes my side making it uncomfortable for prolonged use. Lastly, the top of the girdle can cause a muffin top effect because it doesn’t come up high enough on my torso. Overall, this is soo worth the money. I am pleased with the way it fits in my belly and back side and am quite hopeful that it will do with it is intended to do- in fact, I’m already back in my prepregnancy clothes!! I would most definitely recommend this to my friends!

    Fit Too Small

The girdle fits snugly and helps me feel more confident about my body as I am recovering from the birth of my third child. I wish I had it sooner because I didn’t start wearing it until more than a month postpartum. Do order a size larger than you think you need. I had to return my first girdle because I couldn’t even zip it up. However, he return process was seamless and pain free!

    Fit Too Small

Pros: it really flattens my stomach. Works much better than my Spanx.

Cons: I ordered too small. I should have called prior to ordering. I can zip it through however, it presses on my ribs. I do use the provided extender to give myself a little bit more room. It makes my butt flatter as well which I don’t like.

How to Wear your Bellefit Girdle with Zipper

  • Fully unzip the side zipper and open the inner tabs beneath the zipper.
  • Sit down on the edge of your bed and step into the girdle one foot at a time.
  • Stand to pull it up as far as you can.
  • Close the side zipper’s inner tabs first and then fully zip up the zipper.
  • Center the front panel and adjust until comfortable.

Begin wearing after birth on the day that you are discharged from the hospital. It’s optimal to begin wearing Bellefit right after birth; however, you will still see results if you begin to wear your girdle at any time during the first 6 months after the delivery.

Here’s why: Still present after childbirth for up to 6 months are hormones secreted during pregnancy. These hormones, Estrogen, progesterone and relaxin loosen the abdominal muscles, the pelvic structure and supporting ligaments and joints. Bellefit works together with your body’s natural process of recovery.
